GM! It’s Brett again. This week we announced a really awesome party we're throwing during NY Tech Week on my bday (June 5th): The Stealth Startup (Soft) Launch Party where I'll be revealing the startup I've been building for the past year. RSVP here.

GitHub Copilot

When Copilot first dropped, it was just a useful autocomplete sidekick. Now they're trying to make it the full-blown primary development environment.

Powered by GPT-4, Copilot Workspace provides "Copilot-powered agents" that can understand developer requirements in plain English and then plan, generate, test and run the corresponding code changes.

The core experience is built around an AI-driven workflow:

  1. Describe a task like fixing a bug or adding a new feature

  2. Workspace generates a specification and implementation plan

  3. It writes the actual code across files

  4. You can review, tweak, and execute the AI-generated code

Developers get an integrated workspace with terminals, different views to modify the AI's suggestions, and the ability to share workspaces via links for collaboration.

This accurately represents how the workflow for developers using workspace would be 👇️

The Big Picture: A lot of people starting up would rather Copilot Workspace than hire interns.
