Bye Bye Binance

Welcome back to Homescreen, the only newsletter where Sam Altman isnā€™t the leading story.

Yes, I know Sama is the thing right now, and there have been a ton of updates since Mondayā€™s story, but I just canā€™t subject you to another OpenAI newsletter.

Luckily for all of us, we have a major crypto story to talk about. Almost a year after FTX went belly-up, another major crypto exchange has bitten the dust.

Binance, the worldā€™s largest crypto exchange, and CZ, Binanceā€™s CEO and cryptoā€™s most powerful person, have both been 86ā€™d out of the US.

More specifically, Binance has agreed to pay $4.3B and CZ has agreed to resign from his post in order to settle a DOJ lawsuit that alleged they broke sanctions and money-transmitting laws. Basically, they allowed billions of dollars to flow to people it shouldnā€™t have been flowing to.

So, Richard Teng, Binanceā€™s Global Head of Regional Markets, is now CEO.

Obviously, youā€™d expect a development this big would come with multiple consequences. And there are a few:

But overall, it seems the reaction is pretty muted. Hell, the largest crypto exchange was just kicked out of the country and yet bitcoin is UP 1.5%.

Perhaps this is a signal of something. With FTX, Binance, Luna, Celsius, BlockFi, Voyager, and 3AC gone, it appears that all of the deadweight holding the industry back has now been flushed out.

Couple that with seemingly imminent ETF approval, and it starts to make sense why crypto isnā€™t holding on for dear life.

But Wait: Thereā€™s still a lot of ground to go before new all-time highs are reached.

Under 1-Second SDXL Image Generation with LCM-LoRAs

Huge news! 2 major advances in image GenAI models have vastly improved the speed and cost of generating high-quality images: SSD-1B and LCM-LoRAs.

SSD-1B is a distilled version of SDXL that is 50% faster, with only a small difference in image quality.

LCM-LoRAs, an even newer and more impressive innovation, enables you to get high-quality image output in less than one second and the lowest SDXL image prices today.

Both are now available on OctoAI, where their Asset Orchestrator technology, smart caching, and fast asset loading make these SDXL innovations genuinely shine.

Read all about how to achieve this yourself in this blog. Then sign up and try OctoAI today to get over 1k SDXL images free. Your users will thank you!
